NEW YORK (AP) — Phil Collins is un-retiring. Collins tells Rolling Stone he is no longer officially retired and, in his words, “The horse is out of the stable and I’m raring to go.” Collins dropped out of the spotlight to spend time with his family. His marriage broke up and his ex-wife moved to Miami with their two boys. Collins later moved into Jennifer Lopez’s old house in Miami. He wants to make an album and tour, although he’s not sure which will come first. He’s got a way to go before then, because he’s recovering from back surgery. The good news is that Collins says the surgery should resolve his previous nerve problems that kept him from playing drums.

NEW YORK (AP) — Stevie Wonder, Usher, Lenny Kravitz and Demi Lovato are brushing up on their Lionel Richie lyrics. They will be part of the tribute concert when Richie is honored by the Recording Academy as its MusiCares Person of the Year. John Legend, The Roots and Zac Brown Band will also play, along with Pharrell Williams, Luke Bryan and Lady Antebellum. The event will be in Los Angeles on February 13, two days before the Grammys.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — What would the “Beach Boys Party!” album sound like without the party? Capitol Records is re-issuing the album with the party overdubs removed. The Beach Boys recorded the album in 1965 by just jamming unplugged on their favorite songs, including the breakout hit, “Barbara Ann.” They returned to the studio with families and friends to record party noises and chatter to mix over the songs. The 50th anniversary reissue will remove the party overdubs and adds 69 dialogue tracks and more songs, including “Satisfaction,” ”You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin'” and “Ticket To Ride.” ”Beach Boys Party! Uncovered and Unplugged,” comes out November 20.

UNDATED (AP) — The family of Three Dog Night singer Cory Wells plans to hold a private memorial for him. Wells died last week but the cause of death was not revealed. The family has designated two cancer charities and a humane society for those who want to contribute in Wells’ memory. Details are on Three Dog Night’s Facebook page. Three Dog Night have not said how they will handle their tour dates beginning in November.

NEW YORK (AP) — Adele will be the musical guest on “Saturday Night Live” on November 21. Her “25” album comes out the day before. Matthew McConaughey will be the host of “SNL” that night.

NEW YORK (AP) — Andy Grammer will take on one of the hardest songs to sing on one of the biggest stages possible. He will sing the national anthem for Game 1 of the World Series tonight between the Royals and the Mets. The game airs live on Fox. Grammer will re-release his 2014 album “Magazines or Novels” on November 20 with four new songs.

NEW YORK (AP) — Imagine what it’s like to write a song with Adele and you can’t tell anyone for close to a year. Songwriter Greg Kurstin says he wanted to run around on the streets and shout to random strangers that he had written “Hello” with Adele. The song was released Friday and went to number one on the iTunes singles chart in 85 countries. “Hello” almost was a dud. Kurstin says Adele and he had written the verse, but their time together ran out and he went home with half a song. He says they managed to get back together a few months later and they finally finished it.

ORILLIA, Ontario (AP) — Gordon Lightfoot’s initial reaction to hearing his hometown was putting up a statue to him was, “Why me?” Canadian Press reports the 12-foot-high bronze statue was unveiled Friday in Orillia, Ontario. It shows Lightfoot in his 20s sitting and playing guitar with a frame of leaves around him. Lightfoot attended the unveiling and says it’s “super special” to see the statue.

NEW YORK (AP) — Phillip Phillips has married his longtime girlfriend. Phillips’ representative tells People magazine he married Hannah Blackwell at a plantation in Albany, Georgia, on Saturday.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Lynyrd Skynyrd frontman Johnny Van Zant describes guitarist Gary Rossington’s heart attack as “slight” and says Rossington is itching to get back to touring. Van Zant tells Billboard magazine Rossington suffered the attack two weeks ago while in a hospital for another procedure and his doctors took him off his blood-thinning medication. Van Zant says he recently told Rossington they should just cancel the rest of their shows for the year. Rossington told him he’s been thinking about what’s important to him and it’s family and playing the guitar, so he wants to play shows. Lynyrd Skynyrd’s next scheduled date is the Alabama National Fair in Montgomery on November 7.
