Ocean 104.7’s Local Cape Codder of the Month

February 12, 2021

Ocean 104.7, Fairway Restaurant and Pizzeria and The Hole in One Bakeries and Eateries invite you to join us in honoring some of the members of our community who are doing great things for Cape Cod.

Non-profit leaders. Volunteers. Teens who are making a difference in causes they care about. Teachers who are delivering innovative learning solutions. Or everyday heroes who stepped up during the COVID-19 crisis.

Each month, we invite listeners to nominate an unsung hero and let us know why he or she deserves to be honored as Ocean 104.7’s “Cape Codder of the Month”. We’ll review submitted nominations and determine a local person to honor who’ll receive a $100 Gift Card from Fairway Restaurant and Pizzeria and The Hole in One. Go to Ocean1047.com to nominate someone today!

As local favorites, the family owned and run restaurants are pleased to sponsor the award.

Fairway Restaurant and Pizzeria is where food is a comfort, reminding you of simpler times; meals like mom, dad or grandma used to make. Choose from Fairway favorites, like their Quinoa Bowl, Country Breakfast, Baked Lasagna or Build Your Own Pizza! The Fairway is open for breakfast and dinner and accepts take-out orders, located at Route 6, North Eastham. Check out the menu at FairwayCapeCod.com. And if you order online on Chow Now, pay online AND leave you car details on the order – Fairway will run out to YOU in the parking lot, so you don’t have to get out of the car.

The Hole in One in Orleans and Eastham offer fresh brewed coffees, lattes and teas, plus scrumptious signature treats like shortbread bars and egg N cheese croissant sandwiches. But the signature Hole in One experience? Biting into one of their hand-cut donuts… with a satisfying hint of crispness on the outside…followed by a flavorful inside that’s both heavenly and sinful. They offer take-out and both locations are open until 2:00 daily, in North Eastham on Route 6 and Route 6A, Orleans. Check out the menu at theholecapecod.com.

Don McLean’s Wife Seeks Protection from Him

January 22, 2016

CAMDEN, Maine (AP) — Don McLean’s wife has been granted a temporary order of protection from him after she cited a pattern of abuse that has lasted three decades. McLean was arrested Monday for misdemeanor domestic violence. His wife filed a handwritten request for protection that said McLean’s rage was “unfathomably deep and scary” in the early days of their marriage. She says her husband terrorized her for four hours earlier this week and she feared for her life when she called 911. McLean has issued a statement saying his marriage is experiencing a “very painful breakdown” and he is not a villain. He says he may never recover from this but he hopes to be able to entertain people as he always has. McLean will resume touring next Wednesday in Chicago.
