**Join Dave Read for Cape Cod’s Coolest Dessert**
Four Seas Ice Cream – Cape Cod’s favorite ice cream store for 80 years – is celebrating its anniversary this year, and they are having 20 of Cape Cod’s best Chefs/Restaurants participating in a fundraiser to mark the occasion. The Chefs will use Four Seas ice cream in a dessert they create and then serve it at their restaurants.
In exchange, they’re asking each restaurant to donate 50 cents to a $1 of each dessert created for the contest – the money will all go to Children’s Cove, an organization that helps Cape Cod children who’ve been the victims of sexual assault and abuse. Then the restaurant will encourage their customers to come to our finale event, to be held Aug. 3 from 1pm-4pm at the St. George Greek Orthodox Church, in Centerville.
What do they get? Aside from a great feeling for donating to a great cause, all chefs will receive a plaque for participating. If they win they receive “The Golden Scoop” award and get to advertise they serve the “Cape Cod’s Coolest Dessert”!
They’re hoping for a thousand people. Each individual who purchases a ticket will be given a ballot to vote for the “Coolest Dessert on Cape Cod”. Celebrity judges will also judge the desserts and the next day the winner will be announced on the radio. They’ll also have an award for “coolest booth” at the event.
An entrance fee will be charged to the public for the event and there will be live music, raffles, silent auction, balloons, face painting and much more.
