For over seventy years, the legendary Cape Playhouse has been bringing professional summer theatre to Cape Cod. Often referred to as the “Birthplace of the Stars”, the Cape Playhouse has attracted a long litany of famous actors since its inception in 1927. The list reads like a veritable ‘who’s who’ of stage and screen. Over the years, the Cape Playhouse has gained a reputation for producing quality, professional entertainment in the form of great theatre and each year thousands continue to enjoy great shows at America’s Oldest Professional Summer Theatre.
The Odd Couple is one of Neil Simon’s most recognizable and timeless comedies. Fastidious Felix Unger is thrown out by his wife. His only refuge is with his best friend, Oscar Madison, a recently divorced sportswriter whose apartment is a study in slovenly chaos. Friends, yes, but will they drive each other crazy?! This peculiar pair, with decidedly different approaches to life, to love – and yes, to housework, has been entertaining audiences with side-splitting laughter and classic comedy for nearly 50 years.
